F&W Magazine Likes Me
December 01, 2005

I don’t buy lottery tickets. I don’t ‘win’ as a rule and so I was eyes-wide-open when I read AliceFeiring.com was named by Food & Wine magazine as one of the Seven Best Wine Blogs in the universe.

In the October issues, writer Mickey Butts wrote:

“The Internet has spawned thousands of self-proclaimed wine critics.
Although most are rambling and full of monotonous recitations of "wines I've tasted," a few stand out for their quality and timeliness. Here, are bloggers who truly have something to say........

....The wine and travel columnist for Time magazine, Alice Feiring uses her blog to share her thoughts on everything from biodynamic winemaking to pairing wild ramps and red Burgundy. “

And then author Mickey Butts goes into my mission statement.

Two of the sweetest results of this plug were other winewebbers, like Natalie Maclean (Natalie Maclean.com) reaching out to congratulate me and sharing one of the article's seven blog spots with the intimidating witty, Joe Dressner, and of course the flood of emails from readers I had no idea existed.

Amongst the silliest outcomes of this distinction was the rush of emails from people requesting restaurant reservations at El Bulli (!) and winery appointments. I received requests to start importing and my very first stalker.
