Thanking you. +++++++++Letter to Alice from a wine store west of Illinois Hi Alice... I think you might go ape for those Friday Monkey wines! What a concept, huh? Here's a food pairing for their Merlot: An excellent drinking wine with red meat or pasta. As opposed to, what?, a "bathing wine"???? And their Cabernet Sauvignon must be quite a wine-- "The warm alcohol finish will enhance recipes with Roast beef, Lamb, Mussels, Turkey and Venison." Wow...do we cook mussels inside the turkey? What a range of foods for one wine to team up with... Well, we've had a procession of people today selling crap. Not one grand wine in the line-up. All sorts of folks who work for others as winemaker or assistant winemaker...and now they all have their own labels, because, apparently, the boss doesn't pay them enough. And they all want to be handsomely rewarded for their artisan winemaking. I didn't taste one wine that was worth its price tag.
