Slow Week

I imagine I was still nursing my wounds, having missed the three fringe wine fairs outside of VinItaly. I have been here in the apartment working on the book revisions and find myself with nothing to say. It is rare, but it happens. Which brings me to; have you been watching the Clark Smith episodes? On his blog at http://www.grapecrafter.com/grapecrafter/2007/04/can_authenticity_be_the_enemy.html#more he has thrown the gauntlet down in my direction; "With all the clamor about authenticity, surely somebody will step forward, please, and get to work on chairing a committee. Alice?" So, why me? One friend wrote this; "his idea is to pidgeon-hole the kind of wine you're advocating into a clearly identifiable market segment and thereby limit any broad impact from a movement for 'authentic' wine. "
